What can I expect at my first visit?
Please arrive with your paperwork completed a few minutes prior to your scheduled appointment. We will spend time reviewing the paperwork, discussing your concerns and learning more about you as an individual. This assessment can sometimes take several sessions to fully complete. Most of the time, you can expect to leave with a plan for how your concerns will be addressed.
Will anyone be told about my counseling session?
No, counselors are legally and ethically guided by codes of ethics to protect your privacy. However, if you are under the age of 18, a parent generally must give their consent on your behalf. There are limits to confidentiality which are explained in the Informed Consent document and will be further discussed during your first appointment.
As a counselor, I work as a service provider. My product is my time and expertise. When someone fails to appear for a scheduled appointment or cancels less than 48 hours before the appointment, I am unable to fill that time with another client. If you give me 48 hours’ notice of your intention to cancel your appointment, I will not charge you for the time. If you fail to provide 48 hours notice, a no-show fee of $175.00 will be charged. Please call me to cancel or reschedule any appointment only; email or text cancellations are unacceptable.
I am an out of network provider for most insurance companies and payment is due at the time of the session. You will be given a form that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement at the end of the session. Before scheduling an appointment, please contact your insurance company to determine if you have out-of-network benefits and if pre-authorization is required.
Fees are payable at the beginning of the session. Cash, Check and Credit Cards are accepted. Health savings Account and Family savings Account payments are accepted also.

I can be reached by telephone at (203) 635-5221. If the reason for your call is a clinical emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. All non-urgent calls will be returned within 24 hours. Please do not email or text me as I cannot guarantee your privacy through these mediums.
